We spent yesterday exploring the San Telmo neighborhood with Teresa and Alicia. During our wandering, we saw three different versions of the tango.
The first, in Plaza Dorrego , was a guy explaining the history of the tango, the different influences on the dance and its rhythms, in between dances.
The second was down a random alleyway. While the dancers were pretty good, there seemed to be a disproportionate number of male senior citizens, so we didn't stay too long.
The best, of course, came last. We walked up to Parque Lezama and found a combination of tango and chess. Two men play chess on a regular board and tango dancers replicate their moves on a life size chess board. Super cool! And we made two new friends, Lucia and Matias!
