Quito - Top of the Trip, Middle of the World

After Lima, we took a 36 hour bus ride to Guayaquil, Ecuador on our way to Quito. While we really liked Quito, the "top of the trip" refers to it as our most northern stop. We actually stepped back into the Northern hemisphere when we went to Mitad del Mundo, or the Middle of the World, site on the equator.

Cafe Mosaico - awesome cafe run by an expat NYer/Ecuadorian/Greek couple,
Alex and Lidia. We were so excited to eat real Greek food, hear about
life in Ecuador and see the most amazing views of Quito. If you go to Quito,

American Week in Lima

After Cusco, we headed up to Lima to meet up with our friends, Brent and Fran. They were spending the month of April in Lima to continue studying Spanish and were nice enough to let us stay with them at their apartment in Miraflores, a suburb of Lima. We had a great time hanging out and playing Scrabble and Golf.

American style brunch in Miraflores. MMMM!

Later that day, American snacks!

And to finish off the day, Hooters! (Note this picture was taken
before Brent and Nat found out they were out of wings!)

Fat boys! Poor Brent and Nat each went up twice and crashed both times
